GOALS
- Learning through problem sets and contextualized situations
- Build knowledge and develop skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication and assessment
STRATEGY
- Define/Identify the problem
- Explore students' prior knowledge related to the problem
- Identify what knowledge is necessary to learn to solve the problem
- Investigate the problem and look for
solutions
- Assessment is authentic
(contextualized and integrated into learning activities) and based on
performance.
- The groups define the “learning
issues” that they think are raised by each new problem and decide how to divide
the work in order to solve them;
- Streamline group work (maximum five
students) and independent research;
- Evaluate possible solutions to the
problem
